Eva M. Pratt

Eva M. Pratt, 94, of Janesville, WI passed away on Tuesday, May 24, 2011 at Evansville Manor. Eva was born in Hanover, WI on August 17, 1916, the daughter of John and Eva (Groh) Galauner. She married Lynn Pratt on May 23, 1936, in Rockford, IL. Lynn and Eva were married for sixty-nine years prior to his death on September 24, 2005. Together, they farmed in Porter and Center Townships for forty-two years. Eva’s life centered around her family and she treasured many memories of life on the farm. She was a expert at raising African Violets and enjoyed cooking, baking, reading and crocheting.

Eva is survived by her five children: Lyle (June) Pratt of Helena, MT; William Pratt of Edgerton, WI; Linda (James) Hanson of Janesville, WI; Rich (Ruth) Pratt of Lake Geneva, WI and Paul (Martha) Pratt of Powell, OH. She is also survived by her ten grandchildren: Craig (Shahnaz) Pratt, Aaron (Melinda) Pratt, David (Jennifer) Abb, Jeff (Cindy) Abb, Katy (Ben) Smith, Karen (Josh) Andersen, Kristin (Andy) Pratt, Sara (Evan) Bing, Amy Pratt and Brian Pratt. Thirteen great-grandchildren were also important in Eva’s life: Alyssa and Sophia Pratt, Nathaniel Abb, Nicole (Steven) Hawkins, Brittany and Brandon Fryda, Haley and Brady Abb, Austin, Alex and Emily Smith, Sophie and Lucy Andersen. Eva is also survived by her brother and two sisters: Joseph Galauner, Rose Shaw and Lena Murvin. She also was blessed with many caring nieces, nephews and friends. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers: John, Steve, Peter and Nicholas Galauner and two sisters: Anne Kelly and Mary Birly.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 28, 2011 at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 207 E. High St., Edgerton, WI. Pastor Carl Seeger will officiate. Burial will be in Bethel Cemetery, Center Township. Visitation will be at the Church on Saturday from 9 to 11 a.m. Assisting the family is Henke-Clarson Funeral Home. www.henkeclarson.com.
